Watson, Robinson headed to D-I

ROCHESTER - MCC sophomores Donisha Watson (Bronx, NY/Mt. Vernon) and Karin Robinson (Queens, NY/The Mary Louis Academy) will continue their academic and athletic careers at NCAA Division I universities.

Watson, a 6-foot-4 center, will be taking her talents to Niagara University and the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. A two-year starter at Monroe, Watson averaged 7.3 points, 9.7 rebounds, and 3.2 blocks per contest for the Tribunes.  She averaged 5 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 blocks per game as a freshman.

Robinson, a 5-foot-7 point guard, is headed to the Big East and Providence College. An honorable mention NJCAA All-American, the sophomore transfer averaged 10.5 points, 3.7 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 3.1 steals per game for MCC. 

The Tribunes finished the season with a 23-6 record and advanced to the NJCAA district semifinals.
