Monroe takes two from Ulysse
The Tribunes have won six in a row.
ROCHESTER – The MCC ice hockey team ran its winning streak to six games with a pair of victories over Team Ulysse this past weekend.
The Tribunes (6-2) won 6-4 on Saturday and 4-2 on Sunday. Sunday's victory was the 150th in head coach Craig Chamberlain's career at Monroe.
Daniel Martensson (Malmoe, Sweden/Procivitas) had two goals and one assist and Tomas Busek (Beroun, Czech Republic/Manazerska) added two goals to lead the attack Saturday.
Mark Woinicki (Newburgh, NY/John S. Burke Catholic) added a goal and two helpers and Mike Boyd (Vancouver, BC/Sullivan Heights) chipped in with one goal and one assist.
Tom Dehr (Varysburg, NY/Batavia Notre Dame) registered 17 saves in goal.
Dan Going (Wilton, NY/Saratoga Springs) scored a short-handed goal and added an assist in Sunday's victory. Busek added an empty net power play goal, and Tim Young (Chili, NY/Aquinas) also scored on the man advantage.
Cameron Randles (Canyon Country, CA/Pete Knight) had MCC's other goal. Rasmus Nilsson (Kungsbacka, Sweden/Elof Lindalvs) stopped 19 shots.
