Sheffer earns ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove Award
The freshman is MCC's third Gold Glove winner.
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado - MCC freshman pitcher Dylan Sheffer (Penfield, NY/Penfield) was honored as a 2013 ABCA/Rawlings NJCAA Division II Gold Glove Award winner.
Sheffer helped lead the Tribunes to a 33-15 record and the program's 23rd Region III championship. He is the third MCC player to earn the distinction, following catchers Cory Brownsten (2008) and AJ Kehlenbeck (2011).
Sheffer finished the year 5-2 with one save and a 1.94 ERA. The first team All-Region selection was named Most Outstanding Pitcher after tossing a shutout against Genesee CC at the Region III tournament.
Sheffer had a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage, handling all 20 of his chances without an error. Only two opposing runners stole bases against him in 51 innings on the mound.
