More information for Chamberlain dedicaton ceremony released
The pioneering head coach led the Tribunes for 33 years.
ROCHESTER - The MCC baseball program will honor pioneering head coach H. David Chamberlain in a special tribute on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013 at Monroe's new baseball diamond.
The ceremony will be part of MCC's Alumni Week and Homecoming. The Tribunes will also take on the University of Rochester in a doubleheader that day. Below is the schedule of events for the weekend.
Friday, Sept. 20
- 10th Annual Steve Ricci Memorial Golf Tournament at Victor Hills Country Club beginning with registration at 9 a.m. and Shotgun Start at 10 a.m. Please contact Tim Ricci at tricci@rochester.rr.com for more information.
- MCC Sports Hall of Fame Ceremony and Dinner at 5:30 p.m. Coach David Chamberlain will be inducting former Tribune baseball player Joe Reina (Class of 1995) into the Hall of Fame. Joe is now the Head Baseball Coach at the University of Rochester. For more information, please contact Lisa Curatalo at lcuratalo@monroecc.edu or by calling 585-292-2830. Tickets can be purchased for $10.
- After the festivities, you are invited to join us at the Holiday Inn on Jefferson Road to gather with your friends and colleagues in the private reception area.
Saturday, Sept. 21
- At 11 a.m., we will gather at the MCC Tribune Baseball Monument Park. The dedication ceremony will begin at 11:30 a.m. honoring Coach David Chamberlain and Coach Jack Christensen and dedicating Tribune Baseball Monument Park. Coach Chamberlain and Coach Christensen and their respective families will also be attending the event. At noon, the MCC Tribunes will compete in a doubleheader against the University of Rochester.
- Following the double header, you are all invited back to the Holiday Inn to conclude the weekend with friends in the private reception area.

A monument park will be erected behind the backstop honoring Chamberlain and his contributions to Monroe Community College. There will also be an opportunity to purchase commemorative, customizable bricks. The Brick order form may be found here.
Coach Chamberlain led the Tribunes for 33 years, compiling a record of 735-232. He is an MCC and NJCAA Hall of Famer.
