JACKSON, Michigan - The MCC women's soccer team capped a weekend roadtrip with a pair of big victories, defeating Parkland College and Jackson College to run its winning streak to eight.
The Tribunes defeated the previously-unbeaten Cobras 3-0 on Saturday before taking down Jackson 5-0 on Sunday.
Caitie Broderick stopped six shots, including a penalty kick late in the game, to lead Monroe past Parkland.
The Tribunes wasted no time getting on the board versus the ninth-ranked Cobras. Gabriella Hallnan sent a corner kick toward the goal and Eleni Markou converted to make it 1-0 just 49 seconds into the game.
Hallnan made it 2-0 just before the break, and Bayley Kralik finished the scoring in the second half.
Markou scored her team-high 18th and 19th goals as the Tribunes took care of Jackson on Sunday. Charlotte Collins-Blaize, Emma Krenzer, and Michaela D'Ambra all added goals, and Kralik chipped in with a pair of assists.
Broderick and Kirsten Lane combined for five saves to register the team's second shutout of the weekend.
