MCC returns from break with solid win

ROCHESTER - The MCC ice hockey team returned from a lengthy break with a 7-1 victory over the Oswego University Club team Wednesday night at the Bill Grey's Regional Iceplex.
The Tribunes (13-1) spotted the Lakers a 1-0 lead before scoring the next seven goals.
Oswego jumped out in front with a power play goal at the 5:54 mark of the first period. The Tribunes tied it seven minutes later on the man advantage, as Martin Matejcek put home a rebound.
Matt Corey then provided the eventual game-winner late in the period, again on the power play.
Monroe tallied three more goals int he second period, coming from the sticks of Pavel Kuzmin, Reilly Moore, and Dominik Gabaj.
Seth Hamilton made it 6-1 with a third-period goal, and Matejcek added his second score of the game to close it out.
Matejcek also added an assist, and Gabaj had two helpers. Gabaj now has 34 assists on the year, tying MCC's single-season mark set in 2010 by Josh Bechard.
Jesse Little and Tyler Fess combined to stop 12 shots in goal.
