MCC Swimming & Diving captures WNYAC Champions title

Buffalo, NY.- The Monroe Community College men's and women's swimming & diving team were named WNYAC champions in their final WNYAC meet of the season at Erie Community College this past weekend.

Women:

The Lady Tribunes swimming and diving team finished off the meet defeating Erie CC 142-2, Jamestown 101-79, and Genesee 120-48.

 MCC had three individual leaders, Emma Preski, McKenna Briggs, and Jillian Sauer.

Emma Preski- 1000 Yard Freestyle, 500 Yard Freestyle

McKenna Briggs- 200 Yard Freestyle, 100 Yard Breaststroke

Jillian Sauer- 1 mtr Diving

The 200 Yard Freestyle Relay team of Kara Williamson, Preski, Autumn Collins, Briggs touched first in 1:49.66.

Men:

The Tribunes got by host Erie CC by a score of 124-45. MCC also defeated Jamestown 118-55, and Genesee 120-48.

Michael Laviani, Brendan Briggs, Ryan Campbell, Alex Scaglione and Evan Olsheski all claimed individual wins for Monroe.

Michael Laviani - 1000 Yard Freestyle, 200 Yard IM

Brendan Briggs - 200 Yard Freestyle, 100 Yard Freestyle

Ryan Campbell- 1 mtr Diving, 3 mtr Diving

Alex Scaglione- 500 Yard Freestyle

Evan Olsheski- 100 Yard Breaststroke

Relay: Brycen Mirisoloff-Lynch, Briggs, Olsheski and Scaglione won the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay in 1:41.36.

The Tribunes will host Roberts Wesleyan on Wednesday, January 25th for a 5:30 pm meet.
