Lady Tribunes Come up Short Against Nassau to Open Monroe Mixer Play

NEW ROCHELLE N.Y. - The Monroe Community College Lady Tribunes travelled to Monroe College (New Rochelle) to take on Nassau CC falling short by a final score of 72-59. The game took place at the Monroe Athletic Complex in New Rochelle, NY.

The first quarter of the game ended in a tie, with both teams scoring 17 points. However, in the second quarter, Nassau Community College took the lead by scoring 20 points compared to Monroe Community College's 10 points. This gave Nassau Community College a 10-point advantage going into halftime.Nassau Community College continued to dominate in the third quarter, outscoring Monroe Community College 25-22. Despite Monroe Community College's efforts to close the gap in the final quarter, both teams scored 10 points, resulting in a final score of 72-59 in favor of Nassau Community College. For Monroe Community College, Niani Downing and Shariona Blocker were the leading scorers, each contributing 11 points. Downing also had an impressive performance on the boards, grabbing 7 rebounds. Kamiya Dambreville had a solid overall performance, scoring 15 points and collecting 10 rebounds.
