Tribunes Show Out at NJCAA Nationals

RICHMOND, VA - MCC's men's cross-country team performed well at Cross Country Nationals, putting their training and dedication on display. 

Kyle DeRomanis (Churchville, NY) finished 33rd with a time of 29:06.6. DeRomanis' time card shows his strong pacing, endurance, and a powerful finish. His quick 1K split of 3:17.2 shows he started strong, likely to secure a good position early. Throughout the race, he maintained steady splits from 2K to 6K, varying only slightly in the 3:32–3:49 range, demonstrating excellent pacing control and stamina over the mid-race distance.

Notably, DeRomanis finished with faster splits, clocking 3:43.2 at 7K and an impressive 3:38.3 for the final stretch, showing he had energy for a strong close. His total time of 29:06.6 for 8K is impressive, as was his placement of 33rd, showing his indicating solid training and a well-executed race strategy. 

Benjamin Brundage (Hamlin, NY) finished 84th with a time of 31:45.5. Brundage's time card showed his strong start and solid effort. He opened with a quick 1K split of 3:33.3, showing a confident start. However, his splits gradually increased from 3:51.9 at 2K to 4:11.3 at the 4K mark. 

From 5K onward, Brundage maintained a steady pace around 4:04–4:08 per kilometer, demonstrating good endurance. His final 3:50.3 split shows he still had enough energy for a strong finish, closing out with determination. His total time of 31:43.5 for 8K, Ben's performance reflects resilience.

The gap in placement between DeRomanis and Brundage with only a time gap of a few minutes shows just how quality the field was. 

Brundage and DeRomanis will look to improve again and perform even better at the NJCAA Half-Marathon National Championships.
