ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The Monroe Community College Men's Soccer Team picked up their third-consecutive win of the season, downing the Lackawanna College Falcons 8-0, in a game that the Tribunes controlled from the opening kick.
Within the first two minutes of regulation, Sophomore striker Sora Kozaki netted a beautiful shot into the top right corner securing the Tribunes their first goal of the game with the help of Sophomore defender Haato Efune.
Two minutes later Sophomore Gabriele Sellati scored the second goal of the game of a corner which was shot into the air and soared perfectly above the keepers head, leaving the goal unassisted and making it the Sophomore's second goal of the season.
Thirty minutes into the first half of regulation, Freshman midfielder Ties Leune took a pass from Freshman Harley Jackson and headed the ball into the right corner which gave the Tribunes a 3-0 lead and also gave Leune his first goal of the season.
A minute later Ties Leune was joined by Freshman midfielder and defender Simon La Fonta who passed the ball and Ties took the ball around the keeper and scored on an empty net giving the Freshman his second goal of the season.
Ten minutes later, Simon La Fonta was given a beautiful pass from Freshman forward Shion Kawabe which allowed Simon to execute a shot that secured the fifth goal of the game.
After a dominant first half, the Tribunes came back stronger. In the first twenty minutes of the second half of regulation Sophomore forward Andrew O'Neil was assisted by Freshman defender Michael DeCaro and secured the sixth game of the game.
Ten minutes later, Freshman forward Denri Williams carried the ball up the field into the box and shot it right past the keeper leaving the goal unassisted. This gave the Tribunes a 7-0 lead and Williams his first goal of the season.
With three minutes left in regulation, Freshman defender Yongmin Park took a pass from Sophomore forward Charlie Gaskin which allowed Park to slot the ball into the corner and secured the eighth goal for the Tribunes ending the game.
