Tribs rally past Jamestown
MCC rallied from a two-set deficit to defeat visiting Jamestown in a WNYAC volleyball match.
ROCHESTER – The way things have been going for the MCC volleyball team this season, not even a two-set deficit against one of the best teams in the region could keep them from chalking up another victory.
The Tribunes rallied to take the last three sets to defeat Jamestown CC 17-25, 24-26, 25-18, 25-22, 15-8 in a Western New York Athletic Conference match Tuesday night. The Tribunes (30-3) have now won 12 matches in a row.
Monroe also moved into first place in the WNYAC with a mark of 5-1.
Gabby Morey (Honeoye Falls, NY/Honeoye Falls-Lima) finished with 19 kills and six blocks for MCC. Denae Rinaldo (Canastota, NY/Canastota) added 15 kills and 11 digs.
Claudia Villanueva (San Juan, PR/Eduardo Garcia Carillo) totaled 13 kills and four aces, while Erica Thompson (Liverpool, NY/Cicero-North Syracuse) chipped in with seven blocks.
Clara Engelhart (Ithaca, NY/Ithaca) dished out 47 assists and Paige Calabrese (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) had 21 digs.
