Tribs in third after Day 1 at nationals
MCC is 10 strokes off the pace after shooting an opening-round 307.
CHAUTAUQUA, NY - The MCC golf team is in third place overall after shooting an opening round 307 at the NJCAA Division III national tournament Tuesday.
The Tribunes trail Jamestown CC (297) and Vincennes University (303) heading to tomorrow's second round on Chautauqua's famed Lake Course. The tournament runs through Friday.
Tyler Hill (Brockport, NY/Brockport) led Monroe with a 3-over-par 75. Jered Maloney (Honeoye, NY/Honeoye) and Brandon Grzywacz (Holley, NY/Holley) each carded 77s, and Zach Tuttle (Penfield, NY/Penfield) shot a 78. Brett Robertson's (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) 82 was discarded.
