ROCHESTER - The records continue to fall for the MCC volleyball team.
The Tribunes won three more regional matches Saturday to improve to 22-0 on the season. The 22-game winning streak is a new team record, breaking the old mark of 21 set in 2012.
MCC defeated Mohawk Valley CC (2515, 25-7, 25-7), Fulton-Montgomery (25-20, 22-25, 25-15, 23-25, 15-6) and Herkimer College (25-9, 25-19, 25-8).
Monroe continues to set the pace in Region III and now sports a 14-0 record in regional play.
The Tribunes started fast with a big win over Mohawk. Rose Ayala had a team-high nine kills, while Dayle Taber added seven. Jess Jenkins had 11 digs, Candice Greer had three aces, and Montana Vescovi totaled 28 assists,
The match of the day took place against Fulton-Montgomery. The Raiders took the fourth set 25-23 to force a deciding fifth set. That's when Monroe took control.
Chelsey Luce had a kill to make it 12-5. After Fulton got a point, Taber added two straight kills to make it match point. Greer then put the final set away with a kill of her own.
Luce came up big with 18 kills and Taber added 13. Jenkins finished with 18 digs, and Vescovi handed out 53 assists.
Monroe wrapped up the day with a convincing win over Herkimer. Vescovi had 18 assists, and Greer and Emily Butler contributed six kills apiece.
