The MCC volleyball team defeated the Elmira JVs Wednesday night, and in the process tied the program's mark for most victories in a single season.
ROCHESTER – The MCC volleyball team defeated the Elmira JVs Wednesday night, and in the process tied the program's mark for most victories in a single season.
The Tribunes moved to 31-3 with the 25-10, 25-10, 25-8 win. The 31 victories ties the previous standard set by the 2005 squad. MCC goes for the new mark this week in a regional pod tournament at Tompkins Cortland Community College.
Gabby Morey (Honeoye Falls, NY/Honeoye Falls-Lima) registered 21 kills in just 29 attempts for Monroe. Kelsi Blum (Livonia, NY/Livonia) added eight kills for the Tribunes.
Clara Engelhart (Ithaca, NY/Ithaca) had 31 assists, while Kate Sullivan (Oswego, NY/Hannibal) had eight digs. Amber Ryan (Lansing, NY/Lansing) chipped in with four aces.
