KANSAS CITY, Missouri - United Soccer Coaches announced its 2017 Junior College Women's All-America and All-Region teams, and a handful of MCC players were honored for their accomplishments this past season.

Leading the way were midfielders Elin Eklund and Theoni Zerva, who were both named second team All-American by the USC.  The duo helped lead the Tribunes to a 13-3-0 mark and the Region III, Division I championship.

Eklund has been a steady figure for two seasons for Monroe. She finished with 15 goals and 15 assists in 2017 and was named to an All-America team for the second consecutive year. She was a first teamer after the 2016 campaign.

Zerva made a big splash in her first season with the Black and Gold. She tallied 19 goals, a team-high 21 assists, and also led MCC with 59 points.
