Ariyo has huge day as Tribunes rout Rowan

PEMBERTON, New Jersey - Freshman Roosa Ariyo scored five goals to lead the second-ranked Monroe Community College women;s soccer team to a 9-0 victory over host Rowan College at Burlington County Friday afternoon.

Ariyo scored twice in the first 4:12 of the contest and added her third 20 minutes later as the Tribunes (2-0-0) jumped out to a 3-0 lead. Theoni Zerva then found the back of the net to make it 4-0.

Ariyo tallied her fourth goal with 13:27 remaining in the half, and Elin Eklund added another score as Monroe made it 6-0 at the break.

Ariyo then finisher off her fantastic effort with a goal early in the second half. Bayley Kralik and Taylor Clark added goals down the stretch to provide the final margin.

Zerva, Eklund, and Kralik added assists on the game, as did Courtney Hall, Alicia Nikolasevic, Paige McGrath, and Taylor Ghysel.

Kirsten Lane made one save in a scoreless first half in goal for MCC. Marykate Eckert didn't face a shot on goal in the second half.

Monroe outshot the Barons 18-6 on the gamel and had an 8-1 advantage on corners.
