Wingerden inks letter of intent to UTSA
The sophomore helped lead MCC to the national tournament in 2012.
SAN ANTONIO - Monroe Community College forward Taylor Wingerden (Macedon, NY/Palmyra-Macedon) has inked a National Letter of Intent to continue her soccer career at the University of Texas at San Antonio.
Wingerden, a 5-6 sophomore, helped guide the Tribunes to an 18-2 record, regional and district championships, and a trip to the NJCAA Division I national tournament. She finished the season with 17 goals and 10 assists.
A first team All-Region III selection, Wingerden had two hat tricks on the season. Her first came in a victory over Bryant & Stratton on Oct. 6. She then recorded another on Nov. 4, a 5-0 win over Community College of Rhode Island in the District E title game.
Wingerden was named to the All-Tournament team after tallying two goals and three assists in MCC's two games at the national tournament.
