Tribs roll on Homecoming
MCC tops Bryant & Stratton, seals home field for regionals
ROCHESTER – The MCC women's soccer team celebrated Homecoming in style with a 7-1 victory over Bryant & Stratton Saturday.
The win was the 10th in a row for the Lady Tribunes (10-1). MCC also wrapped up home field advantage for the Region III tournament in late October.
Margaret Doyle (Loreto College Crumlin) got the Tribs on the board in the sixth minute, knocking in a corner from Ally Sharpe (Brockport, NY/Brockport) for a 1-0 lead.
Taylor Wingerden (Macedon, NY/Palmyra-Macedon) made it 2-0 two minutes later, and Sharpe and Kaylen O'Brien (Spencerport, NY/Spencerport) added goals before the half to make it 4-0.
Wingerden finished a hat trick with a pair of goals in the second half for MCC. Ali Campbell (Marion, NY/Marion) added another score late in the half.
Doyle, Jessica Riggall (Tully, NY/Tully) and Natalie Rogers (Webster, NY/Webster Thomas) added two assists apiece.
Chloe Crook (London, England/Holy Family) and Paige Buchholz (Greece, NY/Greece Odyssey) combined to make three saves in goal.
