ARNOLD, Maryland - The MCC women's lacrosse team heads to Anne Arundel Community College this weekend to compete in the 2019 NJCAA national tournament.
The Tribunes (7-5) will take on the host Riverhawks at 2 p.m. Saturday in the national semifinals. The winner will battle either Onondaga or Harford Sunday at 12 p.m. for the title.
MCC has won the last six national championships and eight of the past nine.
MCC and Anne Arundel played once during the regular season. It was a momentous contest, as the Riverhawks prevailed 17-11 to snap Monroe's 98-game winning streak.
The Tribunes enter the national tournament boasting some of the top scorers in the nation. Kyrsten Stone is fifth in the country in goals with 44, and leads the NJCAA in assists (41) and total points (85). Makenzie Storto is tied for second in goals (53) and is third in points (78). Emily Smith is eighth in goals with 41.
