Lady Tribs wrap regular season with pair of wins

BUFFALO - The top-ranked MCC women's lacrosse team capped an unbeaten regular season with a pair of victories on Saturday. The Tribunes defeated the University of Buffalo Club team 24-3 before dispatching Erie Community College 25-5.

Monroe will carry an 11-0 record and a 79-game winning streak into the Region III tournament, which will take place May 6-7 at MCC. The Tribunes are the top seed and will face an opponent to be determined.

MCC opened against UB and breezed to the victory. Taylor Excell led the way with five goals, while Dana Isaacs added four goals and two assists. Charity Warner and Adriana Williams chipped in with three goals and an assist each.

Janee DeLuca tallied two goals and three assists, and Morgan Hollenbeck had two goals and two helpers.  Excell also led the team with six ground balls, while Savannah Clemens scooped up four.

Sarah Annable stopped six shots and Paige Noel blocked five as they combined to turn away the Bulls.

Isaacs kept up her hot scoring touch as the Tribunes finished off the doubleheader sweep against Erie. The sophomore midfielder scored four more goals and handed out a pair of assists to pace Monroe to the win.

DeLuca also had four goals and two assists and Hollenbeck tallied three goals and three assists. Kyli-Marie Towner scored three goals and two assists, while Warner also had a hat trick.

Christie Hahn finished with two goals and eight assists.
