Five Tribunes named to All-American team
MCC capped a perfect season with the NJCAA national title.
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado - Coming off a perfect season that culminated with a national championship, five MCC women's lacrosse players were named All-American by the National Junior College Athletic Association.
Sophomores Hannah Barnett (Gorham, NY/Marcus Whitman) and Keirsten MacLellan (Baltimore, MD/Seton Keough), along with freshmen Caitlin Cavallaro (Corning, NY/Corning East), Molly Gray (Gorham, NY/Marcus Whitman), and Elizabeth Lacomb (Syracuse, NY/West Genesee) were honored for their outstanding seasons.
MacLellan had a team-high 60 goals and was second with 73 points. Barnett finished with 21 goals and 11 assists and was among the team leaders in ground balls and draw controls.
Cavallaro had a 4.67 goals against average and and a .629 save percentage in over 800 minutes in goal for Monroe. Gray finished with 27 goals and 26 assists, and Lacomb tallied 29 goals and eight assists.
The Tribunes went 18-0 and defeated Anne Arundel CC 17-5 on May 12 to win the program's third national title in the last four seasons.
