Tribunes wrap up regular season with big victory
The Tribunes improve to 14-0 heading to the postseason.
BINGHAMTON - The top-ranked MCC women's lacrosse team cruised in its regular season finale, defeating Broome CC 26-4 Saturday afternoon.
MCC tied a program record for goals in a game and improved to 14-0. The team will travel to Herkimer, NY next weekend for the Region III tournament. The NJCAA National tournament is May 11-12 at MCC.
Courtney Reuter (Newark, NY/Newark) led the way with four goals and two assists for Monroe. Kiersten MacLellan (Baltimore, MD/Seton Keough) added three goals and two assists, and Alexanrda Sportini (Monroe, CT/Masuk) and Tori Williamson (Spencerport, NY/Spencerport) had three goals and one assist each. Alexis Wilensky (Syracuse, NY/Corcoran) also had three goals.
Caitlin Cavallaro (Corning, NY/Corning East) made seven saves in goal.
Molly Gray (Gorham, NY/Marcus Whitman) scored two goals with two assists and Alyssa Kennedy (Rochester, NY/Gates Chili) had two goals and one assist. MElanie Murphy (Syracuse, NY/West GEnesee) chipped in with a goal and four assists.
Courtney O'Hara (Greece, NY/Greece Arcadia), Hannah Barnett (Gorham, NY/Marcus Whitman), Brianna Everson (Henrietta, NY/Rush-Henrietta), and Ashley Brandt-Hunter (Hamburg, NY/Frontier) all scored once.
