ROCHESTER - The MCC women's basketball team put up a season-high point total in a 124-59 win over Genesee Community College Wednesday night.
The Lady Tribunes (8-0, 18-1) ran their winning streak to 16 games with the big win. Monroe shot 52 percent from the floor, knocked down 17 3-pointers, and had seven players score in double figures.
Erica Abitante led the way with 24 points for Monroe. The sophomore shooting guard started slowly before connecting on eight of her final 10 shots. Lanay Rodney added a double-double with 23 points and 13 rebounds.
The ball was moving freely for the Tribunes, who dished out 29 assists on their 47 made baskets. Torrie Cash stuffed the stat sheet to the tune of 18 points, eight assists, seven rebounds, and four steals.
Sierra Green hit five 3's and scored 17. She is now four 3's away from tying the program's career mark. Shalix Hines added 16 points and five assists, and Jaynelle Robinson tallied 14 points and 10 boards. Taliyah Brisco tallied 10 points, while Khady Sahr pulled down 10 rebounds.
MCC held a 53-30 edge on the glass.
