Rodney, Green named All-American

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado - Freshmen Lanay Rodney and Sierra Green were honored for their tremendous seasons by being named NJCAA Division II All-Americans.

Rodney was named to the first team, while Green earned third-team honors. The duo led the Lady Tribunes to a 29-4 mark, the Region III championship, and a third-place finish at the NJCAA Division II national tournament.

Rodney, who was also the Region III Player of the Year, led Monroe with 17.7 points per game and shot over 55 percent from the field. She also averaged 6.9 rebounds and 2.6 steals per contest. Rodney was named to the all-tournament team after compiling 12 points and nine rebounds per contest at nationals.

Green was a first team All-Region III selection and was Monroe's top threat from beyond the arc. The freshman averaged 13.5 points per contest and her 88 made 3-pointers was a team-best and ranked eighth in the nation.
