Lady Tribs romp past Fulton-Montgomery in opener

ROCHESTER - Kiki Bynes scored 20 points to lead five players in double figures as the MCC women's basketball team defeated Fulton-Montgomery 94-50 in the season opener Saturday evening.

The Tribunes (1-0) held a huge advantage on the glass, outrebounding the Raiders 56-24.  Monroe also forced F-MCC into 19 turnovers and turned those miscues into 26 points.

Bynes came off the bench to knock down 7-of-10 shots form the field, including a pair of 3's. She also added a game-high eight assists.

Sophomore guards Bailey Hixson and Tyese Purvis each connected four times beyond the arc and scored 16 for the Tribunes. MCC hit 13 3's on the night.

Deja Carroll added 13 points, and Adre'onia Coleman had a big all-around game with 11 points, 15 rebounds, six steals, and four assists. Fannisha Price pulled down 13 rebounds.

MCC takes on Lackawanna College at 12 p.m. Sunday.
