BRONX, NY - The iron was unkind to the MCC Lady Tribunes against ASA College Saturday, and the result was a 69-52 defeat that halted a 17-game winning streak.
A tough Avenger defense held Monroe (18-5) to 12-for-60 from the field and 2-of-18 from beyond the arc. The loss was MCC's first since Nov. 10 against Gulf Coast CC.
Karin Robinson (Queens, NY/Mary Louis Academy) led the way with 20 points, six rebounds, and three steals for the Tribunes. The sophomore guard was just 5-for-17 from the field, but connected on 10-of-16 from the free throw line.
Dionne Coe (Brooklyn, NY/Murry Bergtraum) was the only other player in double figures for MCC, hitting a pair of 3's and finishing with 10 points. Donisha Watson (BRonx, NY/Mount Vernon) chipped in with 10 rebounds and five blocked shots.
