The Cougars got on the board via a two-run homer in the third inning of game one. Monroe got its run in the fourth. Camryn Bianchi led off with a double and scored on a base hit by Brooke Catlin.

Genesee then tacked on a run in the fifth and two more in the sixth for the win. Bianchi finished with a pair of hits for Monroe, with Jen Newell and Cassidy Geise also adding singles.
