Tribune softball to host regional first round series May 4 and 5
MCC is the second seed in the Region III, Division III tournament.
ROCHESTER - The MCC softball team will host a first round, best-of-three series this weekend to open up Region III, Division III postseason play.
The Tribunes will take on Niagara County Community College at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Saturday. If necessary, game three will be at 3 p.m. Sunday.
The winner will move on to the Region III-B championship series next weekend at Tompkins Cortland CC against either Broome or Mohawk Valley. The winner of that best-of-three will advance to nationals.
Monroe enters the postseason with a 20-15 record. The Tribunes started the season 0-12 before rattling off wins in 20 of their next 23 games.
MCC swept Niagara County 13-5 and 14-0 on April 18.
