MCC men in second after day one at regionals

ROCHESTER - The MCC men's swimming and diving team is in second place after the first day of the 2017 NJCAA Region III/Northeast District championship meet.

The Tribunes totaled 125 points Friday evening and are 10 behind first-place Genesee. Herkimer is in third at 107.

Monroe's 200 free relay team of Alex Parks, Aaron Berghash, Caleb Puzio, and Ben Metzger got things started by taking first in a time of 1:32.27. The Tribunes then got a runner-up finish from Jon Manwarren in the 500 free (5:19.48).

Metzger followed with a victory in the 200 IM, taking first in a time of 2:05.67. Patrick Marsh was third in 2:13.72.

Parks took third in the 50 free (23.75), and the 400 medley relay team of Manwarren, Maclaine Conner, Marsh, and Berghash was second in 3:50.13.
