MCC men take down Brockport
The Tribunes gear up for regionals with a big victory.
ROCHESTER - The MCC men's swimming and diving team looked solid in its final tune-up before regionals, topping the State College at Borckport 148-82 Wednesday evening.
Monroe hosts the Region III/Northeast District meet next Friday through Sunday, Feb. 15-17.
A group of four double-winners led the way for MCC. Tore Hansen (Skoutianten, Denmark/Zealand) placed first in the 500 free (5:15.63) and the 1000 free (10:31.71), and Kevin Burns (Ravena, NY/RCS) won the 200 free (1:46.47) and 200 backstroke (1:59.30).
Gaitan Gehin (Lausanne, Switzerland/Gymnase August Piccard) and Kyle Shares (Victor, NY/Victor) were the other double winners. Gehin touched first in the 200 IM (2:02.81) and the 200 breaststroke (2:20.97), while Shares won the 1-meter (254.75) and 3-meter (240.85) diving events.
MCC's other winner was Connor Kilmer (Auburn, NY/Auburn), who took first in the 100 free (49.55).
