JAMESTOWN, New York - Monroe Community College played to a 1-1 tie with host Jamestown Community College in a men's soccer contest Wednesday evening.
Kevin Kabongo scored midway through the first half for the Tribunes, who moved to 4-3-2 on the season. MCC held a 23-6 edge in total shots and controlled the tempo throughout much of the game, but couldn't cash in on scoring opportunities.
Kabongo got things going in the 26th minute, scoring his fourth goal of the season off a Mewah Nyeayea assist. Jamestown answered back in the 36th minute, as the Jayhawks' Madani Ba controlled a ball meant to be played back to Tribune keeper Christopher Wadsworth and put it home to tie it at one.
The score remained that way the rest of the contest and the teams played to the draw.
Wadsworth finished with four saves for Monroe.
