MCC gets regional win over Mercyhurst
Six different players scored in the 6-0 victory.
ROCHESTER – Six different players scored as the MCC men's soccer team remained undefeated with a 6-0 victory over Mercyhurst North East Saturday.
The fourth-ranked Tribunes move to 1-0 in Region III, Division I play, and 10-0 overall.
Daniel Tesoro (Brisbane, Australia/Endeavour) got Monroe on the board with the eventual game-winner in the 16th minute.
Mohamed Wally (Jersey City, NJ/Ferris) and Ngwese Ebangwese (Rochester, NY/Pittsford Sutherland) then scored less than two minutes apart to make it 3-0.
Gianluca Cuomo (Rochester, NY/Greece Athena) rounded out the first-half scoring with a deep blast to make it 4-0 in favor of MCC.
Darryl Potter (Rochester, NY/Rush-Henrietta) and Alejandro Muniz (Dunkirk, NY/Dunkirk) added goals in the second half for the Tribunes.
Fernando Meza (Miami, FL/Miami Beach) stopped three shots for the shutout in goal.
