MCC tops Fisher to wrap up regular season
The Tribunes are undefeated heading into next weekend's regional championship.
ROCHESTER – The third-ranked MCC men's soccer team wrapped up the regular season with a 2-0 victory over the St. John Fisher JVs Friday afternoon.
The win moved the Tribunes to 14-0 on the season. Monroe will host the Region III, Division I championship game on Saturday, Oct. 27 at 2 p.m.
The game was scoreless for the first 76 minutes before MCC scored twice in span one minute and 32 seconds to put it away.
Gianluca Cuomo (Rochester, NY/Greece Athena) got the Tribunes on the board, converting a pass from Abe Barry (Rochester, NY/Greece Olympia).
Juan Colorado (Brooklyn, NY/FDR) then added the insurance goal. Scott Cowan (Rye, NY/St. Margaret's) assisted on the play.
Fernando Meza (Miami, FL/Miami Beach) got the shutout in goal
