Men's lacrosse rolls past Tompkins Cortland

ROCHESTER -  The MCC men's lacrosse team defeated the Panthers of Tompkins Cortland CC by a score of 17-8 Sunday afternoon. The win gives the Tribunes two on the season, evening their record at 2-2.

Monroe was led by the strong play of freshman Austin Jobson, who finished the game with five goals and one assist. Jobson and company were firing on all cylinders right from the start. MCC piled in three goals in the first three minutes of action which helped the Tribunes get off to a 7-1 lead after the first quarter of play. MCC was in control for most of the game and led from start to finish.

Jake Moss found the back of the net as he added five goals for the Tribunes. Moss also had two assists on the day.

Hudson Weil finished with three goals and two assists while teammate David Lehman added two goals for the Monroe attack. Also adding goals for the Tribunes were Connor Nicholson and Ethan Marchitell.

Mark Campbell had a terrific game in goal for the Tribunes stopping 19 shots from the Panthers and only allowing eight to get by.

The Tribunes return action on April 5 as they travel Finger Lakes Community College to take on the Lakers.
