HERKIMER, NY - There was no stopping defending national champion Onondaga CC on its march to a regional title, and unfortunately for MCC, that included the Tribunes in Saturday's regional semifinals.
The Lazers cruised past Monroe 28-1 and later defeated Genesee CC 15-8 to claim yet another regional title. OCC will be the top seed for the NJCAA national tournament. The Tribunes finish the season with a record of 9-7.
Kyle Youngmann (Hilton, NY/Hilton) scored MCC's lone goal.
Alex Howell (Pittsford, NY/Pittsford Sutherland) made 20 saves in three quarters, and Nick Beniamino (Mendon, nY/Honeoye Falls-Lima) stopped five shots over the final 15 minutes for the Tribunes.
Howell was named to the all-tournament team for MCC.
