SYRACUSE - The MCC men's lacrosse team picked up a key Region III victory Wednesday evening, taking down host Cayuga CC 19-9.
The Tribunes (6-6) improved to 4-1 in the Region III West Division standings and 5-3 in the region overall. Monroe will host Finger Lakes at 5 p.m. Thursday, April 18, in a continuation of a game suspended by lightning earlier in the season.
Ethan Printy (Irondequoit, NY/Eastridge) had a big game for MCC, totaling six goals and four assists to go along with 10 faceoff wins and five ground balls. Kori Halftown (Cattaraugus Reservation/Gowanda) added five goals and three assists on the evening.
Kyle Youngmann (Hilton, NY/Hilton) added four goals and two assists and Tyler Martin (Central Square, NY/Central Square) tallied two goals and three helpers. Mitch Smith (Hilton, NY/Hilton) and Pete Barilla (Irondequoit, NY/Irondequoit) chipped in with a goal and an assist each.
