ROCHESTER - Second-ranked CCBC-Essex took advantage of a depleted Monroe CC lineup and defeated the Tribunes 15-3 on DiMarco Field Wednesday.
MCC was without its top attack line of Torry Whitcher (Henrietta, NY/Rush-Henrietta), Kori Halftown (Cattaraugus Reservation/Gowanda), and LeRoy Halftown (Cattaraugus Reservation/Mynderse), as well as midfielder Ethan Printy (Irondequoit, NY/Eastridge), because of injury.
Essex jumped out to an 8-0 lead at the break and never looked back. They peppered MCC goalie Alex Howell (Pittsford, NY/Pittsford Sutherland) with 55 total shots and 37 shots on goal. Howell finished with 22 saves.
Mitch Smith (Hilton, NY/Hilton) finished with two goals and Nick Wolak (Brighton, NY/Brighton) had a goal and an assist for MCC.
