ROCHESTER - A well-balanced attack was key as the MCC men's lacrosse team defeated Tompkins Cortland CC 21-10 on John L. DiMarco Field Wednesday.
The eighth-ranked Tribnes (2-2) were coming off a 27-7 loss to defending national champ Onondaga last weekend. MCC hosts Harford CC Friday.
Torry Whitcher (Henrietta, NY/Rush-Henrietta) had a huge afternoon, finishing with nine points on three goals and six assists. Mitch Smith (Hilton, NY/Hilton) added five goals and one assist.
MCC jumped out to a 7-2 lead after one quarter and led 13-4 at the half. The lead ballooned to 19-5 after three quarters.
Kori Halftown (Cattaraugus Reservation/Gowanda) chipped in with four goals and two assists and LeRoy Halftown (Cattaraugus Reservation/Mynderse) added three goals and two assists.
Kyle Youngmann (Hilton, NY/Hilton) finished with two goals and one assist, and Mike Larkin (Penfield, NY/Penfield) had a goal and two assists.
