A four-goal third period helps push the winning streak to nine.
ROCHESTER – Monroe Community College broke open a tight game with four goals in the third period en route to a 6-0 victory over Broome CC Saturday afternoon.
The win was the ninth in a row for the top-ranked Tribunes, who are 9-2 on the season.
Rasmus Nilsson (Kungsbacka, Sweden/Elof Lindalvs) stopped all 19 shots he faced to register Monroe's first shutout of the year.
Dan Going (Wilton, NY/Saratoga Springs) got MCC on the board with the eventual game-winner just before the first break. Jake Commeau (Manteca, NY/Manteca) then made it 2-0 midway through the second, and the Tribunes carried that lead into the final period.
Monroe then scored four times to open the game up. Tyler Underhill (Marilla, NY/St. Francis) tallied the first two, and Cameron Randles (Canyon Country, CA/Pete Knight) and Dan Turgeon (Centennial, CO/Cherokee Trail) added single goals to close it out.
