Tribunes rout Hudson Valley
MCC earns its first victory of the season.
ROCHESTER – The MCC ice hockey picked up its first victory in resounding fashion, taking down Hudson Valley CC 9-2 in a Region III game Saturday.
The two teams play again Sunday afternoon.
Dan Turgeon (Centennial, CO/Cherokee Trail) had two goals and two assists to lead Monroe (1-0 Region III, 1-2 overall). Mike Boyd (Vancouver, BC/Sullivan Heights) added two goals and one assist, and John Papas (Irondequoit, NY/Irondequoit) had a goal and two helpers.
Tom Dehr (Varysburg, NY/Batavia Notre Dame) made 30 saves in a solid outing in goal for MCC.
Tim Young (Chili, NY/Aquinas), Devin Coon (Sandy Creek, NY/Sandy Creek), Brandon Kirchens (Wheeling, IL/Wheeling), and Mason Richardson (Raleigh, NC/Lincoln) added goals for the Tribunes.
