Dobesh named Region III Male Athlete of the Year
The sophomore All-American recently medaled at the NJCAA national tournament.
CHAUTAUQUA, NY - MCC sophomore golfer Shane Dobesh (Webster, NY/Webster Schroeder) has been named the Region III Male Athlete of the Year.
Dobesh recently capped an outstanding season by earning individual medalist honors at the NJCAA Division III national tournament at Chautauqua Golf Club in June. His four-round total of 290 was three shots better than the nearest competitor. He was named first team All-American and helped the Tribunes finish fourth.
Dobesh is also the two-time defending individual champ at the Region III championship. He set the tournament single-round record with a 6-under par 66 in the opening round this past spring.
He was a third team All-American in 2011, helping lead Monroe to the national title. Dobesh will attend Roberts Wesleyan College in the fall.
