ALFRED - A balanced scoring attack has been a key to MCC's season, and Saturday was no different
Four different players notched double figures as the Tribune men's basketball team defeated Alfred State 81-52. Monroe is now 9-1 in WNYAC play and 22-3 overall.
Jonathan Velez-Rivera (Bayamon, PR/Seneca Valley) connected on five 3-pointers and led the Tribunes with 19 points off the bench. Greg Williams (Cincinnati, OH/Princeton) added 13, as the Monroe bench outscored their Pioneer counterparts 44-5 on the day.
Arnold Fripp (Brooklyn, NY/BRooklyn Collegiate) and Tashawn Desir (Brooklyn, NY/Nia Prep) tallied 11 points apiece, and Jahvari Josiah (Brooklyn, NY/Beach Channel) chipped in with 7 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 steals.
MCC outrebounded Alfred 52-34 on the game. Reuben Berry (Bronx, NY/Danbury) led all players with 12 boards.
